What They Say:
My Wife is the Student Council President, known in Japan as Okusama ga Seitokaicho! High school freshman Hayato Izumi’s hopes of becoming class president are dashed after losing to Ui Wakana, a beautiful girl who promises to lift all restrictions on campus romance. After the student council meeting, Ui arrives at Hayato’s home and announces that she will become his wife due to an agreement that their parents made during their childhood.

With the discipline side having been a thing recently, the show has worked a decent balance since Rin found out what was going on. With this episode, Fujisaki takes a bit of the center stage as she comes across Hayato while he’s out and without Ui, which raises questions from her. It’s a simple enough meeting when you get down to it but it’s also one that plays in a fanservice way with a breeze that comes by and flips her skirt to reveal that there was nothing there. She’s obviously motified but he’s even more reactionary to it in being embarrassed, doing his best to cover her up which she overreacts to.

Fujisaki’s had minimal impact on the series so far – I barely remember her – but she provides for the pintsized punching element here with cute violence against Hayato. A decent part of this episode is the usual school silliness that we get and it has its moments, though it’s more traditional humor with just a bit more sexuality to it, particularly as all Hayato can see is the nakedness of Fujisaki that he saw before since she’s without underwear. There are some fun moments with this because of how they present Fujisaki and her sexuality to be sure, but there’s something missing from the episode to make it really click and work, both in terms of character interactions and the sexuality of it all.

In Summary:
As we get close to the end of the season I had hoped for a bit more with Ui or Rin to get things into a more interesting place, especially considering the living situation, but what we get is a Fujisaki side story episode for the most part. Hayato has more lines than usual here which is amusing but there’s just not much to latch onto and really take to heart. The fanservice is certainly cute and fun but not enough to sustain it with.
