What They Say:
The year is 1555, the middle of the Warring States period, and one young man holds on to a very big dream. That young man, known as an empty-headed fool, is none other than Oda Nobunaga. Enchanted by his dream, a certain young girl who admires Nobunaga swears that she will become his ninja one day. Nobunaga has one goal: to unify Japan by military might! Decorated by a colorful cast of characters, including the airheaded Kichou, the errand boy Hideyoshi, the tsundere Nene, the straight man Mitsuhide, and the half-dead Hanbei, this heavy-hitting wartime gag anime is about to begin!!

Bringing everyone back to familiar turf after the battle that we had meant a bit of a mop up operation in where the characters stand in returning to friends and family – and a little Tokugawa nod as well. This time we get Nobunaga on his next phase of conquest toward Mino, which is where Kicho came from before severing ties to serve the Oda clan. We get some mild background here and some character nods as to who is well-known there, the Mino Three, and see the action side of it as well. The show moves quick in getting from point to point, too fast sometimes since it’s trying to tell an actual story with progress, but watching this range of characters interact and deal with each other even in quick hut nods is a whole lot of simple fun.

In Summary:
The push to Mino is a bit of a surprise as I expected them to run out the next few episodes with silliness among the main cast. There’s not action per se but we do get some fun on the field of battle, a comical moment with sweets, and a little background to fill in what’s happening here. And, of course, Chidori being Chidori as she sets off to solve her master’s problems without fear or worry. This continues to be a cute and adorable show that I wish had at least two more minutes each episode to work with.
