‘Idol Jihen’ Anime Theme Song Performers Unveiled

idol-jihenThe MAGES property Idol Jihen is getting more of its marketing in order ahead of its debut in January 2017. The latest reveal comes from the official site where the premiere date has been set with January 8th, 2017 on Tokyo MX and other networks. Additionally, the series site breaks out information on overseas streaming with bilibili handling the show in Asian markets while Crunchyroll is on board for American and European streaming. We’ll get the official details from Crunchyroll when they’re ready to roll with it.

The series will be directed by Daisuke Yoshida with MAPPA and VOLN producing the animation for it. An ongoing manga series currently exists for it along with a social game and some CD singles.

The Japanese cast includes Sarara Yashima as Natsuki Hoshina, Mai Fuchigami as Shizuka Onimaru, Reina Ueda as Sachie Kondō, Lynn as Mizuki Fudō, Yurika Kubo as Sakurako Iizuka, Sayaka Nakaya as Ume Momoi, Yuri Yoshida as Kuruha Amō, Chinatsu Akasaki as Mika Kozuru, Nozomi Yamamoto as Ringosama Yami, Haruka Terui as Sayo Nekohira, Saeko Zōgō as Konatsu Shinjō and Satomi Akesaka as Lulu Kitani.

Smile♥X will be handling the opening theme song “Utae! Ai no Kōyaku” as they bring together the main cast for it, while the ending theme song “Respect” will be handled by “with”, which is made up of Sarara Yashima and Mai Fuchigami from the series.

Plot concept: The story follows 47 idol members of the seven parties in the Japanese Diet elected from each prefectures and focuses on their efforts to change Japan with their dance and songs and to give smile to everyone in the country.
