The Japanese home video release of the Magic★Kyun! Renaissance anime series from the fall season is being handled by Pony Canyon and they’ve set a familiar plan for it. With it just a few weeks until the first volume hits just as the series broadcast is ending, the finalized cover artwork has arrived that defines the look of the run. The thirteen episode series is getting a seven-volume release that begins on December 21st, 2016. The first volume for both formats is priced at 4,000 yen as it only has one episode while the remaining six volumes are priced at 7,000 yen each with two episodes.
The show was directed by Mitsue Yamazaki based on the script by Tomoko Konparu. Kumi Ishii worked on the character designs based on the material created by Kairi Yura.
The Japanese cast include Yuuichirou Umehara as Teika Ichijouji, KENN as Aoi Suminomiiya, Yuuki Ono as Rintarou Tatewaki, Wataru Hatano as Louis Anjou, Shouta Aoi as Mone Tsukushi, Takuya Eguchi as Kanato Hibiki, Sayaka Senbongi as Kohana Aigasaki, Yukari Tamura as Sakura Aigasaki, Katsuyuki Konishi as Chieri Toudou, Tarusuke Shingaki as Masana Ichijouji, Daisuke Hirakawa as Kanra Ichijouji, Junko Minagawa as Juri Chikamatsu and Akio Ootsuka as Principal.
The opening theme song, sung by the main cast, will be “Magic Kyun! No.1☆” while the ending theme song is “Please kiss my heart.”.
Plot concept: In the world where magic is considered as art, there are students, who learn magic as art, known as Artistar. They attend the Private Hoshinomori Mahou Geijutsu High School. Not only has Kohana Aigasaki transferred to this school, where transfer students are rare, but she has also been appointed to be in charge of the Hoshinomori Summer Festa, as part of the school festival executive committee. These events happen immediately after the transfer with the six future “entertainers”. It’s a school life where Kohana Aigasaki spends time planning for the Hoshinomori Summer Festa and aims to become the Artistar Princess!
