This is the story of a boy and a girl, their love, and their loneliness…The manga adaptation of creator JIN’s smash-hit multimedia tale continues!

Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers):
Seto is still missing and the others are starting to unravel with worry, even blaming each other for Seto’s running away. Plus, Seto isn’t answering his phone so that only adds to their worry that something terrible may have happened to him.

Seto isn’t answering his phone because he spent the night out in the woods surrounded by animals. Seto cannot only hear the thoughts of people, but he can also understand animals. It is an interesting power and if he was older, he could spin it into a career as a pet whisperer and get his own reality show!

It is interesting to see the woodland creatures practically taking care of Seto, but maybe it is because no another human has ever shown the same level of understanding. Not only that, but Seto is both non-threatening and actually pathetic; more of a lost puppy than a mean old human. So the next morning, the Chief of the animals decides to take Seto to see the Monster of the forest. Seto doesn’t want any part of it and runs away, but as fate would have it he actually stumbles upon the Monster’s house!

What kind of Monster lives deep in the woods?!? And does Seto have any chance of escaping?

In Summary
As the story shifts to focus on Seto and his escape into the woods, a new storyline and characters are introduced. Welcome, the Monster of the Woods! The Monster is a descendant of Medusa and just as likely to turn Seto to stone as speak with him. So why did the animals of the forest want Seto to meet her? Did the animals hope Seto could run her out of their forest or just hope to quickly dispose of Seto?

We will have to check out the next volume to find out if Seto’s life ends in a realistically posed stone statue propped up in the middle of the deep dark forest!
