Also known as The Romance of Three Kingdoms, Happinet has revealed plans for a 25th anniversary edition in remastered form on DVD for the Sangokushi movie trilogy that began in 1992. The set is priced at 12,000 yen with a March 2nd, 2017 release planned.
Each film will be getting its own disc but it doesn’t look like there are any extras to be had with it. All the films are listed as HD remastered works for this DVD release.
The films were directed by Tomoharu Katsumata based on the screenplay by Kazuo Kasahara. Koichi Tsunoda served as the animation director with Toei Animation producton the work.
The Japanese cast includes Teruhiko Aoi as Liu Bei, Keiko Han as Lihua, Masane Tsukayama as Lu Bu, Takeshi Aono as Guan Yu, Tarô Ishida as Zhang Fei, Tetsuya Watari as Cao Cao and Yoku Shioya as Zhuge Liang.
