Originally serialized in Comic Shitsurakuten from the November 2016 installment, How to Discipline a Delinquent is a sixteen story from creator Syuuen, who has almost two other works on the service. This marked my first experience with this particular creator and it’s one that certainly works well and I can see checking out more of in the future. Syuuen’s style is appealing beyond the character designs, which are definitely well done here, because they also do a lot in terms of place setting with the backgrounds and objects involved. It feels like a more fully realized world with lots of detail and interactions with it that in the end makes it easier to engage and “get lost” within the story itself because it feels like the creator invested in it.
The story for this one is a familiar setup as we have a bit of a delinquent in a young woman named Nakasato. She’s working at a small convenience store but doesn’t have the right work ethic as she kind of just messes around, half-asses it, and is generally a poor employee. Things go south for her when, upon leaving for the night, the manager discovers a bunch of beer cans inside her jacket that she was swiping for a friend. That has him reaching his limit and the manager chews her out a bit and gets ready to call the police. That, in turn, leads to a bit of negotiating going on between the two as she’s looking for a different way out of the situation that doesn’t involve her going to jail. It’s no surprise that it turns to her paying with her body, but she’s kind of surprised that he’s up for it and he’s almost just as surprised by her going right to that idea.
While it starts off with the simplest of things for her to do to help him climax, he’s unable to complete and that means they progress into more and more activities. And throughout much of this she’s just kind of disgusted by it since he’s “an old man” that’s likely just in his mid to late twenties. When it turns to actual penetration, however, she’s a bit shocked by how good it is on top of already realizing that he’s pretty well endowed. Though she talks of a boyfriend you get the impression she’s either a virgin or really inexperienced and she ends up thoroughly engaged in the activity while trying to play it cool and aloof, which she can’t really pull off. The scenes themselves are good since we have a solid location and setup for it combined with some nice visuals where they’re messing around, and that just enhances the actual sex itself.
In Summary
As a first introduction to Syueen’s work, this chapter is pretty fun and accomplishes working with some difficult material in a way because of the power imbalance that exist. While a couple more pages would have worked well to establish the characters better, and I wish hentai had more post-coital material than a couple of panels, what we do get is standard adult fare that’s been around for decades but done with some nice style and polish to it. Syuuen’s artwork is definitely appealing with the layouts and the character designs but I also really appreciated the extra emphasis on location. It simply makes it more fully realized and easier to enjoy getting into. Fun stuff and a creator worth keeping an eye out on.
