Originally serialized in Comic Shitsurakuten from the December 2016 installment, Port Inn is a twenty-page story from creator MEME50, who has almost two dozen other works on the service. This marked my first experience with this particular creator and I can certainly see myself coming back for more of their works, though I do wish for a bit more story to go with it. On the plus side, with it focusing on adults, there are some nice character designs to it that are taken just a bit beyond the norm and the result is one that’s certainly blunt with what it wants to be but also enjoys what it does, so there’s something engaging about the fun that comes from the way it’s all presented with one big old smile.

The premise is kept simple as we have a writer that’s visiting an inn by the sea in order to get his novel done. He shows up during the fishing season because it’s far quieter there with all the men out to sea getting everything done for several weeks at a time at the least, making the place like a ghost town. What remains at the inn is the young woman who runs it. With no names used, we basically get a hostess that’s taking care of sensei, her guest, and his writing is making out for the best because of it. With wonderful meals, no lines or sharing when it comes to the bath, and fantastic views out across the area and the sound of the sea, it’s a very inspiring place to write to say the least and it looks like sensei does this every year.

What also makes it appealing as that the hostess takes care of every sexual need of his as well when he’s done writing and eating for the day. She’s voracious when it comes to sex, loving every bit of it, but also ensuring that her guest is very well taken care of. The story covers twenty pages and spreads it out with two sexual encounters that are similar but with different moves and positions used at different times of day as well. The hostess is certainly well-endowed and that has MEME50 providing for some beautiful panels at times that really showcase her allure and inspiration. Sensei, for his part, is fairly standard but he’s fully invested in the situation and isn’t just a tool being used by her. It’s little surprise he’s smitten and that the ending works as it does, but the two encounters we get in this chapter are pretty erotic even if the story itself is mostly forgettable overall.

In Summary
As an introduction to MEME50’s artwork, Port Inn works well as I like the designs he uses for both the male and female characters and I like the setting, though some of it feels a bit more sparse than it should be. The story side of it is very, very, simple and that knocks off a few points as it needed a bit more investment in that area. But that’s a mild criticism when it comes to the solidly done sexual side here as the fun and pleasure that both get from it and just the smiles and happy expressions go a long way toward allowing it to connect with the reader in a great way. MEME50 has some great designs and knows how to bring the atmosphere of sex to the page, making it a worthy entry into their particular style.
