King Records is doing a pretty good release for the recent Ajin film trilogy by bringing out a box set release for all the works. The set is scheduled for a December 28th, 2016 release date priced at 16,667 yen. It’ll be a four disc release with the films on individual discs while the fourth is a special event video. Extras include the clean closings and the various teasers for it.
The films were directed by Hiroyuki Seshita as the general director while Hiroaki Ando served as the main director working off of the script by Hiroshi Seko. Yuki Moriyama was the character designer for it while Polygon Pictures handled the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Mamoru Miyano as Kei Nagai, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Kaito, Houchu Ohtsuka as Satō, Takahiro Sakurai as Tosaki, Mikako Komatsu as Izumi Shimomura, Daisuke Hirakawa as Kōji Tanaka, Aya Suzaki as Eriko Nagai, Hiroyuki Kinoshita as Ikuya Ogura and Jun Fukuyama as Kou Nakano.
The manga has been doing well in Japan since it launched in 2012 and it’s gotten some solid acclaim here since Vertical began publishing it. Crunchyroll is handling the digital presentation of the series, making it available to a large number of fans.
Property concept: High school student Kei Nagai is struck dead in a grizzly traffic accident, but immediately revives to learn that he may not be like every other human. Instead, he may be a mysterious almost immortal being granted not only the powers of rejuvenation but the abilities to see supernatural beings. Scared, he runs away, and is aided in his escape from society by his friend. Unfortunately for Kei, the manhunt is on and he will soon be caught within a conflict between mankind and others like him as they prepare to fight a new war based on terror.
