What They Say
“I will restore your love to you……”

When Eriya offers to help retrieve Aki’s memories, he and Kana begin spending quite a lot of time in each other’s company. But seeing the two of them cozily conspiring together, Aki finds himself becoming strangely irritated-despite the fact that he’s said to have lost all recollection of his love for Kana. And with that, the threads that bind the three together grow ever more tangled……

Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers):
Aki and Eriya are twin pureblood vampires. As siblings, they have a convoluted and long history together that is entwined by mystery. A common bond is their interest in Aki’s thrall, Kana. A thrall is someone that dedicates themself to give blood to their vampire. In Kana’s case, she’s in love with Aki, who has lost memories of her.

Eriya appears as if he’s on Aki and Kana’s side, but his true motives are cloaked. Despite that, Aki’s memories slowly return. Kana continues to desire the Aki that loved her back, but she comes to the conclusion that she will love Aki no matter what he remembers. Bits of their relationship seem to surface that goes beyond vampire and thrall.

Weaved into this is a storyline about stigmas that are highly coveted and represent the seven deadly sins. Eriya is revealed to have the stigma of lust. Other creatures possess different stigmas, but how it will all play out on the grand stage is still unknown.

In Summary
Since I started this series now, it was a little hard to jump in and get an accurate picture of the story and how I felt about it. It definitely had a Vampire Knight type of feel to it. So, if that’s something you like, this will be a sure bet for you. What’s different is the variety of characters. It is not just vampires and hunters, but is mixed in with some Japanese lore, such as the tengu.

The art is beautiful and the story has a sultry vibe that a vampire story should have. There also seems to be may layers of story and backstory that are unveiled slowly which compliments the beautiful art. I would like to read all of this series, starting from the beginning, so I can really get the full scope of this manga.

Yen Press does a beautiful job putting this book together. The color insert is gorgeous is a feast for the eyes. There is also a small glossary at the end of the book that might be helpful as well. Highly recommended to give this manga a try!
