‘Doctor Strange’ Set For ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Appearance

Doctor Strange Poster 4-13With the Avengers: Infinity War film moving right along, the red carpet roll out for Doctor Strange this week has Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige talking plenty with the press and providing some good information for the hardcore fans. The latest tidbit to make its way out is that it’s now confirmed that Doctor Strange will be involved in the Infinity War film, though the size of his role wasn’t revealed. For fans of the comics, this will put together three of the Illuminati group that formed several years back with Black Panther and Iron Man. If only we had Black Bolt, Namor and Mr. Fantastic to mix in with it!

While one could easily imagine that it was a given that the character would appear in the biggest of the Avengers films so far, the pieces in the Doctor Strange trailer noting how he deals with the things that the Avengers doesn’t was interpreted by some as a way of saying that he wouldn’t be involved there.

Having worked on Captain America: The Winter Soldier and having done some writing work on Agent Carter, as well as doing the screenplay for Captain America: Civil War, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely are on board for this venture as well with the script. The pair have done some script work on other films within the overall franchise, as polishes and nudges are common in this area, so they’re well versed in the overall Marvel Cinematic Universe at this point.

Avengers: Infinity War and the sequel are being shot back-to-back as part of one long production in 2016 and 2017, in anticipation of a May 2018 release for Part 1 and May 2019 release for Part 2.
