It’s a beautiful new New Comic Book Day day today and that means lots of new books out there to dig into. While ongoings certainly capture most of the $$$ from week to week, it’s new series launches that capture the most attention. Dark Circle Comics restarts The Black Hood this week with a new first issue but with the same writer. Dark Horse Comics kicks off the new Spell on Wheels series while Dynamite Entertainment launches a new Kiss series that will get attention. They also have Pathfinder: Worldscape debuting today. Fantagraphics has a new Love and Rockets launch while IDW Publishing has a few things such as Dirk Gently: The Salmon of Doubt, The Electric Sublime and Star Trek: Boldly Go. Image is mostly ongoings but they do have the standalone Ancestor trade arriving.
Marvel Comics is all ongoings but they have the very anticipated Infamous Iron Man getting underway.
DC Comics is riding some very strong sales this summer with the Rebirth event and this week sees them working through plenty of ongoings and no launches, which gives folks a chance to dig into the ongoings more. The Young Animal side is launching a new book with Cave Carson Has A Cybernetic Eye, which has us hugely intrigued.
On the Star Wars side of things, Marvel is leaving us high and dry again with no new releases.
On the manga front, Seven Seas Entertainment has Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Vol. 4 as the sole manga release.
