2 min read

Battery Visual 6-3Aniplex Japan is handling the home video distribution for the Battery anime season that’s ran this summer as part of the noitaminA block. With the second volume due out in just over a week and the third volume in November, both of those covers have now been revealed, albeit in smaller form. The series is getting a six-volume release where they’re all listed as limited editions. The first volumes are priced at 3,000 yen and 4,000 yen on DVD and Blu-ray respectively as it contains only the first episode. The remaining five volumes are priced at 5,800 and 6,800 yen respectively.

The series set Tomomi Mochizuki to direct and script it with Takako Shimura handling the character designs and also serving as the chief animation director. Zero-G produced the series animation.

The cast includes Kouki Uchiyama as Takumi Harada, Tasuku Hatanaka as Ko Nagakura, Yui Fujimaki as Seiha Harada, Yuuki Ono as Shuugo Kadowaki, Ryouhei Kimura as Shunji Mizugaki, Ayumu Murase as Fumito Sawaguchi, Kaito Ishikawa as Keita Higashidani and Yuuichirou Umehara as Kazuki Kaionji.

The opening theme song is “Itsuka no Jibun” by anderlust while the ending theme song is “Ashita, Haru ga Kitara”, also by anderlust.

Plot concept: The story revolves around Takumi Harada, a young man who moves to a mountain town in Okayama prefecture during the spring break before he enters middle school due to his father’s job transfer. Takumi is a pitcher, and after the moves he loses faith in his own talent, when suddenly his classmate Kō Nagakura appears in front of him. Kō has a strong desire to form a “battery” (a combination of a pitcher and catcher) with Takumi.
