King Records Sets New Priced-Down ‘FLCL’ Bilingual Blu-ray Anime Box Set

2 min read

flclAfter bringing out the FLCL Blu-ray box set back in 2010, King Records is bringing it out once again with a reduced price to it, cutting it by almost half. The set, which will include the English language dub and sub tracks, is planned for a November 23rd, 2016 release priced at 8,888 yen. It’s expected to just be a repressing of what we saw before so it’ll be the same video quality as previously seen.

Originally released in 2002, the series was directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki based on the script by Yoji Enokido. With original character designs by Yoshiyuki Sadamato, it was animated by Production IG and Gainax.

The Japanese cast includes Jun Mizuki as Naota Nandaba, Mayumi Shintani as Haruko Haruhara and Izumi Kasagi as Mamimi Samejima. The English cast includes Barbara Goodson as Nandaba Naota, Kari Wahlgren as Haruhara Haruko and Jennifer Sekiguchi as Samejima Mamimi.

Plot concept: Naota’s a bit quirky, but he can still pass for normal. Haruko’s totally quirky and she’ll never pass for normal. When she runs over Naota with her motorscooter and brains him with a bass guitar, his world doesn’t get turned upside down — It gets incredibly weird. There’s nothing else in the world like FLCL. This one’s going to change your life.
