‘Miss Bernard said’ Debuts New Anime Promo

2 min read

Miss Bernard said VisualThe official site for the upcoming anime project Miss Bernard said has updated ahead of its premiere on October 6th, 2016 with some good stuff. The latest is our first look at the animation for it with a thirty-second spot that also gives us a taste of the opening theme song, “Love! Library” from Shoujo Fractal.

Hisayoshi Hirasawa is directing it at Creators in the Pack based on the scenario from Yoshikazu Maeda. Gonta is on board to work on the character designs. The cast includes Eri Kitamura as Sawako “Miss Bernard” Machida, Mikako Komatsu as Shiori Kanbayashi, Mitsuhiro Ichiki as Endō and Aya Suzaki as Sumika Hasegawa.

Known as Bernard-jo Iwaku in its original manga form, the series comes from Yuki Shikawa as serialized in Monthly Comic Rex where it has two volumes out since it began in 2011.

The anime adaptation from Dream Creation means we should get something solid as they’ve largely mastered the short-form format with recent works that include I Can’t Understand What My Husband is Saying as well as Ojisan to Marshmallow.

Plot concept: The series is about the love of famous works of literature. It follows Sawako “Miss Bernard” Machida, a lazy girl who wants to be a well-read person — but does not actually read much. The manga recounts the conversations between “Miss Bernard” and her bookworm friends about the Bible, The Tale of the Heike, Guns, Germs, and Steel, The Door into Summer, The Great Passage, Fermat’s Last Theorem, and more masterpieces that she has not necessarily read.
