After getting to see Bananya on a bit of an outdoor adventure the last time around, this episode narrows in on him taking a nap on the porch and enjoying the sun. Of course, a little mouse comes by to mess with him by jumping all over him and that has its own cuteness, as does when another of the Bananya family shows up to hang out only to find Bananya asleep. This leads to some sleep-boxing going on as Bananya was watching the boxing match on TV before that, which lads to its own weirdness and silliness. It gets surprisingly violent in its own way and closes out on a nap, which just makes it even more hilarious.
In Summary:
Bananya continues to be one weird show in general and this episode certainly reinforces it. There’s cute aspects of it to be sure, especially the sleep-boxing side of it, but it’s just kind of all over the map like other episodes have been. It’s obviously aimed at younger kids but it avoids trying to have a message and instead is just weird and silly for the sake of it, which I can usually get behind in a big way.
