TOHO is ensuring that there’s some solid promotion for upcoming TV anime series, which has the added wrinkle of ensuring it’s differentiated from the ufotable project, and that means Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru has a lot to work with. With the series scheduled to debut on October 2nd, 2016 on Tokyo MX, a new TV spot has arrived that highlights the opening theme song as well as doing character introductions and a good bit of animation itself.
This series has Doga Kobo handling the animation and will be directed by Takashi Naoya from the scripts by Pierre Sugiura while Junichiro Taniguchi is handling the character designs.
The previously announced cast includes Mitsuhiro Ichiki as Yasusada Yamatonokami, Toshiki Masuda as Kiyomitsu Kashu., Daiki Yamashita as Imanotsurugi, Reona Irie as Toushirou Maeda, Tarusuke Shingaki as Heshikiri Hasebe, Junji Majima as Aoe Nikkari, Kazuyuki Okitsu as Kotetsu Hachisuka, Kento Hama as Yoshiyuki Mutsunoka, Soma Saito as Toushirou Hamazuo and Kaito Ishikawa as Kanesada Kasen.
The game itself kicked off in January 2015 and was developed by Nitroplus and DMM Games.
Plot concept: The year is 2205. The “historical revisionists” have begun attacks on the past in their plot to change history. The Saniwa, who have been charged with protecting history, can imbue life into objects. Strongest among these are the Tōken Danshi. The story centers around their cheerful lives.
