2nd ‘Ajin’ Anime Season Debuts Another TV Spot

2 min read

Ajin Season 2The second season of Ajin has been in production alongside the theatrical features and the OADs for the manga and as we get closer to the October 7th, 2016 premiere for it on MBS and TBS, more marketing is starting to hit. This spot gives us a bit more on the main theme song, which is from CreepHyp, and is called “Kōtei no Sumi ni Futari, Kaze ga Fuite Ima Nara Ieru ka na,” That translates to “Maybe the Couple at a Corner of the Schoolyard Can Say What They Want, Now that the Wind Is Blowing.” It plays mostly in the background and isn’t as distinct as one may hope but it’s certainly going to set the tone for the show going into it.

The first season of the TV series itself was previously picked up by Netflix. With their desire to have a lot of binge material to keep people hooked and draw them back with more, Netflix could have an interesting effect on how series are produced with more seasons planned early on when you consider the overall lead time required.

The manga has been doing well in Japan since it launched in 2012 and it’s gotten some solid acclaim here since Vertical began publishing it. The timing works well for them too as the seventh volume of the manga comes out this week, bringing them largely up to date. Crunchyroll is handling the digital presentation of the manga series, making it available to a large number of fans.

Plot Concept: Based on the manga by Gamon Sakurai, AJIN: Demi-Human, published by KODANSHA Ltd., is about a young high-school student who is hit by a truck and dies only to discover that he is, in fact, demi-human, an “Ajin.” What he finds are dozens of others who are also Ajins; all of whom are being hunted and trying to survive.
