The distributor is looking to bring it out in the first half of 2017 wit h formats to be decided. They’ve previously released some of the films on both DVD and Blu-ray so there’s potential there. They also recently picked up the first 111 episodes of the TV series for release in the spring of 2017 and this special will likely come around the same time to complement it.

The 90-minute special aired on December 26th, 2015 and was animated by TMS Entertainment with Yasuichiro Yamamoto directing based on the script by Kenji Uchida.

Plot concept: The anime special celebrates the 20th anniversary of Gosho Aoyama’s original manga, and it recounts a previously untold story from Conan’s past.
