crane-game-girls-season-2-visualIt was announced in early August that we’d be getting a second season of Crane Game Girls with plans for it to hit this fall. Now, the official site has updated to reveal a new key visual that you can see to the right as well as confirming an October 5th, 2016 debut for the short form series. We previously learned that we’ll be getting three new voice actresses joining the project with new character that includes Aya Uchida, Akari Kageyama, and Mikoi Sasaki as they join the returning cast from the first season.

The show comes from animation studio Kyotoma, which has been working on JK-Meshi for the past two seasons. The five-minute piece is complemented by a sixteen-minute live-action segment with the cast playing arcade crane games. Set to premiere on April 6th on Tokyo MX, the series is directed by Mr. Milkman based on the scenario from Uematsu Inoue. Character designs are being done by Fuyuri.

The cast includes Natsuko Hara as Mirai, Sora Tokui as Ayaka, Riko Sasaki as Kyōko, Sarara Yashima as Sayo and Aina Suzuki as Newscaster.

Crunchyroll streamed the first season to members in the U.S.A., Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Netherlands, Latin America (Central and South America including Caribbean).

Plot concept: The story centers on three girls: Mirai, Ayaka, and Kyōko. The three are the only ones who can save Earth from being destroyed by a group of asteroids. They are hired by Sayo, the representative of a shadowy organization, and the organization starts work on turning them into an idol group. While the trio are more than prepared to be idols, they are instead taken into an arcade.
