‘Ping Pong Girl’ Anime Premiere Scheduled

Ping Pong Girl - Shakunetsu no Takkyuu Musume VisualKnown as Shakunetsu no Takkyuyu Musume,  the upcoming anime adaptation of Ping Pong Girl has gotten some new details. The series is based on the web manga from Yagura Asano and was announced earlier this year as being in production. It’s now been revealed through the official social media side of things that it will premiere on October 3rd on TV Tokyo before moving on to services such as AT-X and BS Japan.  Kinema Citrus is on board to produce the adaptation that will be directed by Yasuhiro Irie based on the series composition by Hideyuki Kurata and character designs by Junko Sugimura.

The announced cast includes:

  • Hisako Tojo as Kiruka Ushirode
  • Yuuki Kawahara as Hokuto Itsumo
  • Ayaka Imamura as Mune Oomune
  • Marika Kouno as Hanabi Tenka
  • Yumiri Hanamori as Koyori Tsumujikaze
  • Minami Tanaka as Agari Kamiya
  • It’s had two print volumes released so far.

The main cast for the show will  be performing together as a unit for the opening theme song “Shakunetsu Switch” with the name Tsubamegahara Chuugaku Takkyuu-bu.

Plot concept: The series follows middle school students Koyori Tsumuzikaze and Agari Kamiya as they enter the world of girls’ middle school ping pong.
