The spring 2016 anime series Ace Attorney is getting its home video release handled by Aniplex Japan and they previously scheduled the first box set for it. As we just had the first set released recently they’ve now brought out a look at the second set with it being solicited to retailers. The show is getting a thirteen episode set that arrives on December 21st, 2016 where the Blu-ray is priced at 17,000 yen and the DVD at 13,000 yen. It’ll have four discs with one of them being an original soundtrack.
Known in Japan as Gyakuten Saiban, Capcom is going big with the franchise this year as there’s a live action film, stage play, music and manga adaptation in the works.
The show was directed by Ayumu Watanabe based on the composition from Atsuhiro Tomioka with A-1 Pictures handling the animation. The announced cast includes Yuki Kaji as Ryuuichi Naruhodou, Aoi Yuuki as Mayoi Ayasato, Masashi Tamaki as Reiji Mitsuruji, Chie Nakamura as Chihiro Ayasato, Masami Iwasaki as Keisuke Itonokogiri and Tooru Nara as Masashi Yahari.
Plot concept: Ace Attorney follows rookie lawyer Naruhodo Ryuuichi (Phoenix Wright) and his assistant Mayoi (Maya) as he defends his clients in a court of law. With limited evidence and logic as his only weapon, can Naruhodo turn the case around when all the odds are stacked against him?
