The last full release week of August hit and the rankings have arrived for what moved and grooved in terms of sales in Japan during that period. On the manga side it’s all about the newest Monthly Girls Nozaki with its 300,000 unit take, which is pretty great to see. The next four titles are all second week sales of properties that basically doubled their numbers. What we get beyond that is interesting to see as Vinland Saga hits just under 100,000 (anime, please!) while the newest Inuyashiki hits the tenth place position. There are definitely some interesting titles hitting during this period.
On the light novel side it’s still great news for Kimi no Na wa as it works the film interest as that added another 75,000 units, bringing it to 334,000 since it debuted. It even kept the ninth volume of No Game No Life from taking the top spot as that landed with a hugely impressive 70,000 units.
