Frontier Works Sets ‘Kariage-kun’ Anime DVD Box Set

Kariage-kunFrontier Works is digging into the backlog of what they have access to for a show that hasn’t seen release before with Kariage-kung. The distributor will be bringing out the 59 episode series on December 21st, 2016 with a new DVD box set priced at 22,000 yen. The set will be spread across eight discs and has a total of 1415 minutes worth of material. No extras are listed with the release at the moment.

The show is based on the manga by Masashi Ueda, serialized in Weekly Manga Action, which began airing back in 1989. The manga has 48 volumes to its name.

Animated by Toei Animation, Hiroki Shibata served as the series director and they worked off of scripts by Hiroyuki Hoshiyama. The Japanese cast includes Yoku Shioya as Kariage-kun, Keiichi Nanba as Furukawa-kun, Keiichi Noda as Chief Kimura, Ryo Horikawa as Satou-kun, Saori Suzuki as Kimura Takashi, Jouji Yanami as Princible Toukichi Kinoshita and Junko Shimakata as Store Manager.

Plot concept: This is a story of a young man named Kariage who works as an employee in a private company named Honnyara Industries. Most of the stories in this anime tells ignorance Kariage in everyday life, sometimes even in the form of social criticism about the lives of the people in Japan .
