Originally serialized in Comic X-Eros #45, Memories as Summer Draws to a Close is a twenty-page story from co_mo, who has three other chapters on Fakku that go back a fair bit overall on the service. This was my first experience with co_mo’s work and there’s certainly aspects of it to like since they bring in a bit of humor along the way and some cute facial expressions, but there’s also a roughness to things that they don’t put much stock in, such as background characters and backgrounds themselves, which gives it an unfinished and unpolished feeling that’s more rushed than stylish. There’s plenty of good work here and the sex itself is where most of the effort is put in to decent effect, but it’s not among the best that’s out there.

The story for this one is cute enough as we get a young man named A-kun that’s with his parents as they go to a yearly visit to a friend of the family who owns an inn out in the countryside. They’ve been coming for years and you get the setup for that whole concept of how A-kun has grown so much in the past year and he and the daughter of the inn now view each other in a new light. The truth, however, is that the two of them got it on pretty hot and heavy last year and they’re both excited for a week of non-stop sex whenever they can get away with it. There’s a whole lot of that teenage bunny-sex kind of mentality going on here as they’re all over each other and there’s a lot to like in that kind of excitement and enjoyment.

Because the two have just a week together and often have to sneak away, the first half of the book is almost like a montage sequence of different types of encounters as they go through it all. Because of the simplicity of the designs there’s not a lot of rich detail to really take it to a higher level, but there’s a kind of lightness and fun about the bounce of it all. Yuki’s design is certainly cute and they play to her frame well even while overdoing her breast size but not making it the sum total of her. The back half of the book works the pair at a summer festival where they make even more memories as we get the whole yukata being undone amid a secret spot in the woods off to the side. It’s a bit prettier here simply because of the costume design, though I’ll admit to liking Yuki’s very flimsy see-through summer dress that she wears most of the time – at least until A-kun gets it off of her.

In Summary
Memories as Summer Draws to a Close is a pretty fun little title overall but it’s not one that really makes a huge impact or will stay in your memories long. What it does provide is for a few minutes of very enjoyable light silliness and simply sexiness with a vanilla design about it. There are some fun bits as the two go at it pretty regularly and intensely as Yuki really gets into it more and more as they go on and as he’s getting closer to leaving, and you kind of want to see what it’d be like with them together on a regular basis as opposed to once a year.
