The anime adaptation of the manga Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni, aka In This Corner of the World, from Fumiyo Kouno got the nod to move forward in a big way back in June. The project initially kicked off with a goal of 20 million yen, but the whole thing went even further with about 36 million yen raised for it between March and May 2015. Now, the official site has updated with the first full trailer for the project while revealing the cast and staff for it. The film will be directed by Sunao Katabuchi at MAPPA with Genco also producing with Chie Uratani writing the composition and serving as the assistant director. Hidenori Matsubara is on board as both character designer and animation director.
The film is set for a November 12th, 2016 debut.

Kouno originally wrote the manga back in 2007 to 2009 where it was serialized in Manga Action magazine, resulting in three compiled volumes released.
Plot concept: Newlywed Suzu Urano moves to her new life in Kure City on the coast of Hiroshima Prefecture, where she perseveres through World War II with pluck and determination.
