Isobe Isobee Monogatari

While we don’t always get full layouts of packaging, especially for a single release disc, it’s always interesting to see which ones do. After receiving a flash anime series back in 2013, the Isobe Isobee Monogatari: Ukiyo wa Tsurai yo manga from Ryo Nakama had another adaptation arrive online at the end of 2015. With the episodes clocking in at about thirty seconds each, you can imagine how much you’re going to get with this 18-minute release from Liverpool. With the distributor having previously set an August 25th, 2016 release for the show where the Blu-ray is priced at 3,024 yen while the DVD is priced at 1,980 yen, we now have the artwork for the two formats with full packaging layouts.

The original work is up to eight volumes now in Japan.

Plot concept: In this ukiyoe-style manga, Isobe Isobee is a lazy, slacker samurai with big dreams. He lives with his mother, who thinks highly of him. He lays around the house, sneakily looks at Edo-period pornography without his mother noticing, naps at school… but he plans to become a respectable samurai one day!
