What They Say:
“Bananya in the Middle of the Night, Nya”
Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
Bananya was a lot of silly fun the last time around as our lead character got out of the house and we got some adventure time. This time, we see some of them getting up early while it’s still dark out and getting a very different understanding of what the kitchen is like, which is pretty scary. The group travel beyond the kitchen, which is also a nice change of pace and there are some cute scares along the way to add a little more to it. The gang is certainly adorable in their own way all while having a looming “threat” in the background that you know will work out in a similarly silly way. The payoff is certainly there with the discovery of the glowing eyes following them!
Bananya has another episode where I definitely find it fun and silly but acknowledge that it’s definitely weak. It’s simple kids entertainment and doesn’t try to be more than that but I find it to e charming in its own light and empty way. Watching Bananya and a few others navigate the house in the dark of the night has the expected scary and silly situations and a most expected twist along the way. It likely delights its target audience and I’d certainly love to see how kids would and do react to a show like this, remembering how my own kids did years ago.
