With the Japanese home video release of the fall 2015 anime series Utawarerumono -Itsuwari no Kamen- having finished up a few months ago, the overseas releases began their planned rollouts not long after that. The first distributor out of the gate with a formal release announcement was that of Kaze France, who scheduled the first of two box sets for it with a planned September 14th, 2016 street date for it. That’s now changed, however, as the distributor has announced a new release date of October 26th, 2016 for it. No update is available in regards to any extras for the sets yet. The DVD set is priced at 30 euro and the Blu-ray for 35 euro, both of which will include the original Japanese language with French subtitles.

While no artwork has been released yet, it’ll likely look close to what the first season did, which you can see to the right.

The show was scheduled for a two cour run for it for a total of twenty-five episodes. The series was directed by Keitaro Motonaga based on the series composition by Takamitsu Kounu. Masahiko Nakada handled the character design adaptation from the original designs by Tatsuki Amazuyu and Misato Mitsumu. Animation production was done by White Fox.

The cast for the series includes Keiji Fujiawara as Haku, Risa Taneda as Kuon, Ai Kakuma as Rurutie, Inori Minase as Nekone and Kentarou Tone as Ukon, reprising their roles from the game.

The opening theme song is performed by Suara, which is called Insecure God, while the ending will be called Feeling as if in a Dream. The first series was done back in 2006, running for 26 episodes, and was produced by OLM. ADV Films originally licensed and dubbed it and it was last released by FUNimation. The Japanese Blu-ray release also included the English language materials.

Plot concept: When I came to, I realized I was standing in the middle of a vast, snowy plain I knew nothing of. I didn’t know how I got there. And to add to that, I couldn’t remember anything, not even my name. I stood there, dumbfounded at my absurd situation. But then, as if to spite me further, a gigantic monster suddenly appeared, a insect-like creature that began to bear down on me. I tried desperately to run, but it cornered me into a hopeless situation. It was then that the girl appeared. Her name was Kuon. It was this beautiful girl, who bore an animal’s ears and tail, that saved my life.
