‘Arrival’ Debuts First Trailer

2 min read

Arrival FilmParamount’s getting things in order for a film that they’re hoping to slide into the awards season of works that come out with Arrival. Scheduled for a November 11th, 2016 debut, it’s working the serious approach to a first contact encounter with a strong cast and production crew associated with it. The first trailer for it seems like it gives a lot of it away but it’s something that’s just hitting the first aspects of what’s to come.

Directed by Denis Villeneuve and with a screenplay by Eric Heisserer, it’s based on the original work Story of Your Life by Ted Chang. It stars Amy Adams as Dr. Louise Banks, Jeremy Renner as Ian Donnelly, Forest Whitaker as Colonel Weber, Michael Stuhlbarg as Agent Halpern, Tzi Ma as General Shang and Mark O’Brien as Captain Marks.

Plot concept: When multiple mysterious spacecraft touch down across the globe, an elite team is put together to investigate, including language expert Louise Banks (Amy Adams), mathematician Ian Donnelly (Jeremy Renner), and US Army Colonel Weber (Forest Whitaker). Humankind teeters on the verge of global war as everyone scrambles for answers – and to find them, Banks, Donnelly and Weber will take a chance that could threaten their lives, and quite possibly humanity.
