‘Kimba, The White Lion’ Gets Anime Elements DVD Collection

Kimba Anime Classics CoverAfter last bringing out Kimba, The White Lion on DVD in a chipboard box back in the summer 0f 2013, Nozomi Entertainment is breathing a little new life into the property with an Anime Elements collection. This new compact release of the 52-episode series is scheduled for a November 1st, 2016 debut where it’ll be priced at $59.99 for the 10 discs it has to hold the 1,145 minutes of classic Tezuka anime material.

The set includes a special “How Kimba Came to Be” booklet written by Fred Patten and Robin Leyden

Plot concept: From Osamu Tezuka, the creator of Astro Boy, comes Kimba, one of the “first-generation anime classics” to reach American TV, and the very first Japanese animation to be broadcast in color, in 1965. Fans have long remembered its catchy theme song, spectacular designs, pioneering animation techniques and gentle stories.

Join Kimba along with his pals Pauly the Parrot, Daniel Baboon, and a charming assortment of other loveable characters, as he follows in the footsteps of his late father, the great lion king, making the jungle a safer, better place for everyone to live. Contains all 52 color episodes presented in order according to Osamu Tezuka’s original storyline.
