The summer 2016 anime series Scar-red Rider XechS had its home video release plans scheduled recently with the dates set. The twelve episode series is getting a six-volume release with both regular and limited editions for each format. The DVDs are priced at 5,800 yen and 7,000 yen respectively while the Blu-ray’s are at 6,800 yen and 8,00 yen. They’re set to begin release on September 21st, 2016.
Animated by Satelight, the series will be directed by Hideto Komori based on the series composition from Naruki Nagakawa. Koji Haneda is handling the character designs based on the original designs by pako. . Chikjashi Kadekaru is on board as the chief animation director while Naruki Nagakawa, Jun Kumagai, and Naohiro Fukushima are on board for scripting duties.
The cast includes Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Yousuke Christoph Komae, Mamoru Miyano as Takuto Kirisawa, Takashi Kondou as Yuuji Tsuga, Hiro Shimono as Hiro Kurama, Hiroki Takahashi as Kazuki Suzuki, KENN as Hijiri Mutsuki, Eiji Takemoto (Prince of Tennis)as Fernández, Daisuke Namikawa as Les Paul, Rikiya Koyama as Divisor, Naozumi Takahashi as Duesenberg, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Rickenbacker, Yuuki Fujiwara as Epiphone, Ayaka Shimizu as Akira Asagi, Satomi Akesaka as Hako Salome Sakura, Kouji Yusa as Souichirou Amakasu, Hitoshi Bifu as Hayato Ishidera and Hiroki Yasumoto as Granbach.
Tatsuhisa Suzuki and Mamoru Miyano will be performing the opening theme song Ao to Kurenai no Forzato, which gives the lead actors a little more time to shine and connect with audiences. The ending theme song old revelation is being performed by KENN, who is also performing in the series.
Plot concept: The Blue World, which symbolizes reason, is under constant attack by the creatures called the Nightfly O’Note originating from the Red World, symbolizing instinct. Akira Asagi, the 17-year-old protagonist who is a researcher at Blue World, is nominated to lead the war at Ryuukyuu LAG, a proud defense facility on the islands of Ishigaki and Iriomote. She meets the sixth combat unit “IS,” which was formed four years after a fierce battle that annihilated the fifth unit. Akira must lead these six riders, also called the Scared Rider Xechs, to fight against the other world while at the same time deepening the relationship among them.
