What They Say
Ever caught yourself screaming, “I could just kill that teacher”? What would it take to justify such antisocial behavior and weeks of detention? Especially if he’s the best teacher you’ve ever had? Giving you an “F” on a quiz? Mispronouncing your name during roll call…again? How about blowing up the moon and threatening to do the same to Mother Earth—unless you take him out first?! Plus a reward of a cool 100 million from the Ministry of Defense! Okay, now that you’re committed… How are you going to pull this off? What does your pathetic class of misfits have in their arsenal to combat Teach’s alien technology, bizarre powers and…tentacles?!
The students of 3-E turn a surplus of eggs to good use—in pursuit of their usual goal. Karasuma teaches them the art of parkour while Koro Sensei teaches them the game of cops and robbers. Then, someone is stealing lingerie, and naturally Koro Sensei is the prime suspect! But is he being framed…and if so, by whom? Lastly, biologically modified Itona discovers that sometimes tentacles can be a burden rather than a gift. He puts everything he’s got into his latest assassination attempt on Koro Sensei…but who will save Itona from himself?!

The cover for this volume is one of the coolest of any release. It has a holographic prism printing that flashes as you move the book, kind of like fish scales. Very cool.
Kayano has played a tertiary character role thus far in the series. But with a national excess of chicken eggs, she takes advantage of the situation to cook up a plan to assassinate Koro Sensei. She knows that he has a weakness for all types of sweets, and plans to create a massive flan that they can bury a bomb inside to kill Koro Sensei. She surprises her classmates with such a unique plan, and all the background research she did to create the pudding bomb. Will Koro Sensei’s sweet tooth be his undoing?
Itona makes another appearance with a secret attack on Koro Sensei that seems to have him on the ropes. But considering Itona had his tentacles grafted onto his head, he is quickly losing control of their overwhelming power. Itona is officially Koro Sensei’s student, and he isn’t going to hurt Itona while defending his life so he is at a disadvantage. As usual, Koro Sensei manages to wiggle out of this latest assassination attempt, but Itona is worse for the wear. Itona runs away as his tentacles are threatening to kill him.
Seeing that Itona has reached his limit and thus no longer of value, his keeper tosses him aside and tells Koro Sensei that Itona is dead to him. Koro Sensei and his class aren’t going to let Itona die needlessly, so they branch out across the city to find him. If they are lucky, they can find Itona before he self-destructs and somehow find a way to remove his tentacles. But will they find him in time?
In Summary
I’m a big fan of both the anime adaptation and original manga versions of this series. The anime releases here in the U.S. are ahead of the manga releases. Having watched the series, I already know what is going to happen in each manga release, but the cool thing is that there are quite a few chapters in the manga that were not adapted in the anime. So reading the original manga gives more insight into many of the less prominent students and even some of the main students. This is another great volume and the holographic front and back cover of this volume is just plain cool. It is awesome that Viz reproduced this unique cover for the U.S. release.
