Madman Schedules Complete ‘InuYasha’ Anime TV Series Release

2 min read

Inu YashaMadman Entertainment began streaming the entire run of InuYasha last year on the AnimeLab service and now they’re looking to bring it out in a big way on home video for collectors that may have passed up on it before. The distributor is planning a November 2nd, 2016 release of the complete series with 167 episodes from the original run plus the 26 episodes from the Final Act run. It does not look to include the movies. The set has a running time of 4,825 minutes and is being released in bilingual form for $299.95.

Extras for the release include Line Art, Japanese Promos, Textless Opening and Closing Songs, Original Japanese Trailer and Commercials

Plot concept: Fifteen-year-old schoolgirl Kagome Higurashi, whose family tends a shrine, falls into an old well one day and literally tumbles into ancient Japanese history. On the other side she meets Inu yasha, the dog-like demon (inu means dog in Japanese) who claims she smells just like the woman who fifty years ago pinned him with her arrow to a tree, where he’s been all this time.

Unwilling allies at first, the two become closer as their search for the sacred “Jewel of Four Souls” continues. If Kagome really is the reincarnation of the shrine-maiden Kikyo, can it be that she’s becoming jealous of herself…?
