The home video release plans have been set previously by Japanese distributor Pony Canyon for Phantasy Star Online 2: The Animation and now we’re getting into the cover artwork for it. With the fifth volume released just over a week ago, we’ve now got a look at it in full size form. The bonus disc isn’t clear what’s on it but it does list it as a “sound benefit”, so it’s a soundtrack of some sort. The new winter 2016 anime series will be getting a six-volume release that began on March 16th, 2016 where each release will be two episodes. It’s getting both regular and limited editions where the limited editions come with at least a bonus disc, such as a soundtrack CD, with those details to be determined later. The Blu-ray’s are priced at 6,500 and 4,700 yen for limited and regular while the DVDs are priced at 5,600 and 3,800 yen respectively.
The series comes from Telecom Animation Film with Keiichiro Kawaguchi directing based on the series composition from Mitsutaka Hirota and character designs by Miyako Takasu.
The main cast includes Mao Ichimichi as Aika, Ayaka Suwa as Rina, Shouta Aoi as Itsuki, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Kouta Kayano, Takuya Satou as Masaya Kudou, Rie Murakawa as Mika Konoe, Aki Kanada as Yutaka Sasaki, Shun Horie as Seiya Urisaka, Minami Kabayama as Mayu Urisaka and Tessyo Genda as SORO. The theme song will be performed by Shouta Aoi.
Plot concept: TV anime adaptation of the online RPG game Phantasy Star Online 2. It will feature an original story that takes place on Earth in the near future.
