The Marvel Studios panel this weekend did a lot of its focus on some of the upcoming films that are a bit closer than others but they also touched on some projects that are going to be moving forward soon. One of those is the Black Panther film that Ryan Coogler is directing. The studio announced the addition of Danai Gurira for the film playing the role of Okoye while also confirming the roles for some of the other actors. We’ve known about Jordan and Nyong’o previously but this marks the first formal confirmation, as well as Jordan taking on a villainous role here.
Written by Joe Robert Cole and Ryan Coogler with Coogler directing, the film arrives on February 16th, 2018. The cast includes Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa/Black Panther, Michael B. Jordan as Erik Killmonger, Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia and Danai Gurira as Okoye.
