The winter 2016 anime series Haruchika: Haruta & Chika is getting its home video release from Kadokawa and we got a look at their plans back in December for it. Now that the fourth volume has arrived, the distributor has brought out a fuller look at the packaging for the fifth volume that lands on July 29th, 2016. The series is getting a six-volume release that began on March 25th, 2016 and will be priced at 6,600 yen on DVD and 7,600 yen on Blu-ray.
The series adapts the Haruchika series of novels from Sei Hatsuno. It stars Sarah Emi Bridcutt as Chika Homura, Souma Saito as Haruta Kamijo, Natsuki Hanae as Shinjiro Kusakabe, Seiichiro Yamashita as Keisuke Katagiri, Haruka Chisuga as Miyoko Narushima, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Maren Sei, Asami Seto as Naoko Serizawa, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Sakaiyu Hiyama and Yuki Yamada as Akari Goto.
Haruchika was directed by Masakau Hashimoto based on scripts and composition by Reiko Yoshida. Namaniku ATK handled the original character design and Asako Nishda worked on the designs for the series. The work is based on the novels that began in 2008 with four out so far and a fifth in the works.
Plot concept: Haruta and Chika are members of their high school wind instrument club that is on the verge of being shut down. The two are childhood friends, and they spend their days practicing hard while also trying to recruit new members. When a certain incident happens within their school, they work together to solve it.
