With the focus on the Aikatsu! Stars TV series that began this past spring and then a couple of minute-long teasers for the upcoming theatrical film, Toei is working a familiar pattern of promotion for the project. After getting some visuals and teasers for the project that’s scheduled for August 13th, 2016 debut, they’re now doing some shorter promotion for it as well. The latest comes in the form of a thirty-second spot that breaks down the key pieces to entice fans with as well as a few particular goodies associated with it at the end.
The film is getting double-billed with a special called Aikatsu!: Nerawareta Mahou no Aikatsu Card.
The original series has been ongoing since 2012 with almost 150 episodes so far while the first theatrical feature landed from Sunrise back in December 2014.
Plot concept: The TV series deals with Yume Nijino, who enters Yotsuboshi Academy and aims to become a top idol. In the movie, the students of the academy will travel to an island in the south in search of a legendary dress. The film will revolve around the students of the Yotsusei Gakuen traveling to a southern island in search for the “Legendary Dress.”
