A new anime series has been slated for a 2017 debut with the announcement that the girl band project BanG Dream is in production. With a single out earlier this year and a second one in August, this will certainly raise their profile a good bit. The project is being directed by Atsushi Ootsuki based on the series composition from Yuniko Ayana. Natsuko Nita is adapting the original character designs done by Hitowa. Issen and Xebec are on board to handle the animation production.
The cast includes:
- Aimi (Aimi Terakawa) as Kasumi Toyama
- Ayasa Itou as Arisa Ichigaya
- Rimi Nishimoto as Rimi Ushigome
- Sae Oozuka as Tae Hanazono
- Ayaka Ohashi as Saaya Yamabuki
Plot concept: Kasumi Toyama felt a fateful meeting with a star-shaped guitar in a pawnshop one day. There are four girls who, like Kasumi, have a dream of looking for a place that can spark them.
