2 min read

Prison School Volume 3 HeaderWith the general popularity of the Prison School manga before and after the anime adaptation, it looks like we’ll be seeing more of it as a spin-off has been announced. The new series will be illustrated by ReDrop and will be titled Fukukaichou wa Ganbaru with plans for it to begin serializing in the August 6th installment of Young Magazine the 3rd. ReDrop has done a range of one-off books and short work over the last few years including some hentai work.

Originally starting in 2011, Akira Hiramoto’s Kangoku Gakuen has twenty-one volumes published so far. The series is doing fairly well in Japan with over four million copies in print so far and the authors previous works, Ago Nashi Gen to Ore Monogatari and Yarisugi Companion to Atashi Monogatari have had adaptations in the last few years in the realm of mobile animation and live action film.

The original manga is licensed in North America by Yen Press while Funimation has the anime rights.

Plot concept: Hachimitsu Academy, known for its strict academic standards and even stricter school code, is making a giant change this year. In the first time in school history, they are allowing boys to be admitted. As Fujino Kiyoshi starts his first day at Hachimitsu Academy he is shocked to find out that there are only 4 other guys in the entire school, making the ratio of girls to boys 200:1. And to their dismay, not one of the thousand girls will talk to them or even acknowledge them. But Kiyoshi and the guys are about to find out about the shadow student council that has been threatening the female students about interacting with male students.
