2 min read

Taboo TattooWith Crunchyroll having picked up the streaming rights for Taboo-Tattoo, which comes from Shinjiro’s original manga series, a little new information has come out about it with some new actors boarding the project. The new additions to the cast include Sho Hayami as Professor Wiseman, who is obviously wise by his name, and Tesshô Genda as Colonel Sanders, which we’ll be laughing at every time we see it.

The show is set to premiere on July 4th, 2016 on TV Tokyo. With eleven volumes of the original manga now released in Japan, the show will be directed by Takashi Watanabe based on series composition and scripts by Mayori Sekijima. Shinya Hasegawa is handling the character designs and the series will be animated by J.C. Staff.

The previously announced cast includes Makoto Furukawa as Justice Akatsuka, Mikako Komatsu as Bluesy=Fluesy, Chika Anzai as Touko Ichinose, Akari Kito as Aryabhata, Shiori Izawa as Iltutmish, Kenjirou Tsuda as R. R. Lurker, Eri Kitamura as Lisa Lovelock, Hitomi Nabatame as Kar Shekar, Toshiyuki Morikawa as Brad Blackstone, Sho Hayami as Professor Wiseman and Tesshô Genda as Colonel Sanders.

The opening theme is “Belief” by May’n while the ending theme is “Egoistic Emotion” by TRIGGER.

Plot concept: Seigi, a martial arts trained middle schooler, often feels driven to protect the weaker people around him. One day, he defends a homeless man against some punks, and the man gives him a strange tattoo on his palm in return. The tattoo is a secret weapon produced in the arms race between America and the Serinistan Kingdom.

Seigi finds himself in over his head when a powerful girl, using the same secret weapon, violently pursues him in order to retrieve it. His skill at martial arts may not be enough to keep him alive, but will he be able to learn how to trigger the power of his tattoo in time?
