Garo SEason 1 Part 2 HeaderFunimation’s getting their ducks in a row for the back half of the first series for Garo: The Animation as the second part is scheduled for an August 9th, 2016 release. Ahead of that, they’ve now got a new minute long promo out that showcases the dub cast for it along with some really good action sequence pieces that should excite those, like myself, that really enjoyed the first half of the season.

Extras for this set include Episode 9 Commentary, Episode 11 Commentary, Special Episode: -DAYBREAK-, Special Episode: -DAYBREAK- Preview, Textless Opening Song ”-DIVINE FLAME-”, Textless Closing Song ”CHIASTOLITE”

Check out our review of the first half here.

The show was animated by Studio Mappa with Yuichiro Hayashi directing based on scripts by Yasuko Kobayashi and character designs by Toshiyuki Kanno.

The series starred Daisuke Namikawa as Leon Lewis, Kenyuu Horiuchi as Herman Lewis, Katushito Nomura as Alfonso San Valiante, Romi Park as Emma Gusman, Hironobu Kageyama as Zaruba, Takaya Hashi as Mendosa, Mari Tsuchii as Octavia, Mayu Udono as Garum and Natsumi Tada as Esmerelda.

Plot concept: After Mendoza’s apparent defeat at the hands of Prince Alfonso, Leon is left humiliated and confused. Abandoned by both his golden armor and his womanizing father, Leon wanders alone looking for purpose and a reason to keep fighting. Meanwhile, Prince Alfonoso struggles to keep up with the daunting dual responsibilities of running a kingdom and keeping Horrors at bay as the chosen Knight of Light. When the two boys finally meet again, will they be able to see the other’s struggles and set aside the past in order to work together? A new evil is rising and it’s going to take the combined force of the strongest Makai Knights and Alchemists to bring peace back to Valiante.
