The third season of The Strain got the approval last summer and it feels damn weird to not have it as a part of the summer season since it’s been schedule for a late August premiere. While we’ve got some time until it its, FX has put out the first quick-hit trailer for it that they’re promoting on the network itself now. Due to some production delays and other issues, the third season of The Strain is now scheduled to premiere on FX on Sunday, August 28th, at 10pm ET. This season is also getting a shorter order because of the delays as it’s being bumped from the thirteen episode runs we had for the first two seasons to a ten episode run – hopefully with a bit less fluff because of it and tighter storytelling instead.
Plot concept: Season 3 picks up with New York City as a battleground. Written off by the federal government, the people of NYC must fight for survival on their own. The question is who will win? Humans or strigoi? Meanwhile, the Master is close to executing an irreversible transformation of the world.
