2 min read

Sweetness & Lightning Visual 6-3Crunchyroll has grabbed a pretty good looking and fun looking title for the summer season with the anime adaptation for Amaama to Inazuma, aka Sweetness and Lightning. While Crunchyroll doesn’t have their own regional availability yet or the premiere date and time on the service, the show is scheduled to arrive on July 4th, 2016 in Japan. The series will be directed by Tarou Iwasaki based on the series composition from Mitsukata Hirota and character designs by Hiroki Harada. It’s being animated at TMS Entertainment.

The main cast includes Yuuichi Nakamura as Kouhei Inuzaka, Rina Endou as Tsumugi Inuzaka and Saori Hayami as Kotori Iida.

Te manga from Gido Amagakure began back in 2013 and will release its sixth volume in March. Kodansha Comics has been releasing the series in North America digitally through their various services.

Plot concept: Having lost his wife, math teacher Kouhei Inuzuka is doing his best to raise his young daughter Tsumugi as a single father. He’s pretty bad at cooking and doesn’t have a huge appetite to begin with, but chance brings his little family and one of his students, Kotori Iida, together for homemade adventures. With those three cooks in the kitchen, it’s no wonder this dinner table drama is so delicious.
