The spring 2016 anime series Sansha Sanyou is getting its promotion handled by TOHO, which means there’s a fair bit of material that comes out for it. The latest piece is a preview of the eleventh episode that’s set to land on June 19th, 2016. The show really works its manga origins in a lot of ways here and the preview reinforces that.
Funimation is simulcasting the series and producing a Broadcast Dub for it as well.
Sansha Sanyo is directed by Yasuhiro Kimura based on the series composition by Hideaki Koyasu and character designs by Jun Yamazaki. It’s being animated by Dogakobo. The main cast includes Mai Kanazawa as Futaba Odagiri, Ayaka Imamura as Teru Hayama, Yū Wakui as Yoko Nishikawa, Machico as Serina Nishiyama, Aina Suzuki as Asako Kondō and Rika Momokawa as Shino Sonobe.
The series is based on the work by creator Cherry Arai, who had some good luck last year in having their series Mikakunin de Shinkoukei receiving an anime adaptation. Sansha Sanyou has been serialized in the magazine since 2003.
Plot concept: The series focuses on three hilarious characters; Futaba Odagiri is the new transfer student with a super energetic personality; Teru Hayama is the class president with a surprisingly mean personality contrary to her innocent looks; and Youko Nishikawa is from a formerly rich, now extremely poor family who still holds on to her princess attitude. These three unlikely students with clashing personalities become good friends and survive the day-to-day teenage life in a very funny story.
