The front cover depicts sisters Chiyoko and Chinatsu lying on a bed together. Both girls are in various states of undress and covered in, well, let’s just say the guy out of picture is ready for a nap. The back cover has both girls looking behind them and pulling up the skirts on their school uniforms. Another great package from Icarus, although I’m still waiting to see color pages. Extras consist of a glossary of terms and pronunciation guide, preliminary sketches by the author and two pages of congratulations from other authors. Interestingly, Icarus included the original pages and translated versions.
Artwork:
Shinonome’s art is really quite good for an ero-manga. Multiple times during the story I thought how much the character design reminded me of a romantic comedy. Shinonome mixes a fair amount of background detail and cross-hatching shading, variable facial expressions and good eye detail with some SD for comedy. Both sisters are cute and well proportioned, all right, Chiyoko does have the whole ‘explosive breasts’ thing going on. Panel layout is impressively variable and as I’ve mentioned already, I really like artists that can use their sketching skills for shading instead of relying heavily on screen tone. The art is also consistent throughout the book.
Text/SFX:
The translation reads fairly well. A few grammar errors popped up from time to time as seems par for the course for Icarus. Honorifics and the Japanese SFX remain but lack an English translation.

Swing Out Sisters is definitely the ero-manga format I prefer, a long continuous story. Even if sibling love isn’t my favorite thing, Swing Out Sisters is still a fun read. Yuuta lives with his two older sisters, Chiyoko and Chinatsu. Chiyoko is the oldest and has always acted quite motherly to Yuuta, whereas Chinatsu has spent years tormenting her little brother for her own amusement.
One day while Chiyoko is out, Chinatsu starts flirting with Yuuta. It turns out to be quite the sibling relationship break through as Chinatsu admits she has always teased Yuuta because she cared. Ahhh, how cute, can anyone say tsundere? Yuuta is thrilled at Chinatsu’s disclosure as he had always figured his sister hated him. Then Chinatsu even goes so far as to offer Yuuta oral sex as an apology. It’s just hard to say no to something like that.
Chiyoko comes home and catches Yuuta and Chinatsu in the act. Jealousy flares up and Chiyoko refuses to be outdone. Considering she’s older and much more endowed, Chiyoko turns out to be quite good at pleasing men. Quite a bit of sex and bath sharing ensues. Chinatsu knows what’s going on, and it leaves her confused and jealous. A love triangle ensues as Chinatsu and Yuuta try to keep their sexcapades secret from their older sister. Will Chiyoko find out? Will Yuuta cut Chinatsu off for his love of Chiyoko? Will all three come together with a common understanding? If they do, can Yuuta handle two nympho’s at once?
There is also a bonus story about a brother sister pirate team. Seems one lucky day a strange mermaid-like creature appears and grants both siblings their greatest desire. It shouldn’t be too hard to guess what that may be considering Shinonome’s overriding fetish.
In Summary
Ignoring the whole sibling love fetish thing, the sex in this book is fairly mundane. Mostly straight sex with plenty of nakadashi, and some paizuri with a single anal scene mixed in. The sex isn’t the hottest we’ve seen in an Icarus title, however the cosplay factor is pretty fun (school uniforms and maid outfits). The art is quite good and the sister’s personalities play well off each other, providing readers with two of the more popular archetypes. All in all, I would put this in the buy category for Icarus titles.
