Crunchyroll Adds ‘ReLIFE For Summer 2016 Anime Lineup

ReLIFE HeaderAs we get closer to the summer season, the announcements are going to start coming in. Last season we didn’t get most of our announcements until the day of or just before a lot of shows, but there are always some that come in prior to that. The latest is that of ReLIFE, which Crunchyroll has announced the pickup for. The series is set to debut on July 1st, 2016 at 11am ET for viewers. It’s getting worldwide distribution outside of Japan, China, North Korea and Syria.

Additionally, the comico YouTube channel has let loose with the second promo for the series.

Animated at TMS Entertainment, Tomo Kosaka is directing it based on the scripts from Kazuho Hyodo and Michiko Yokote. Character designs are being handled by Junko Yamanaka, whose other upcoming adaptations are featured in Servamp.

The series cast includes Kensho Ono as Arata Kaizaki, Ai Kayano as Chizuru Hishiro, Ryouhei Kimura as Ryou Yoake, Haruka Tomatsu as Rena Kariu, Yuuma Uchida as Kazutomi Ooga and Reina Ueda as An Onoya.

Plot concept: Arata Kaizaki (27) quit the job he landed after graduation in only three months. His life did not go well after that. Now his parents are threatening to stop sending money, and want him to come back to the country. He has no friend or girlfriend to share his troubles with…as he hits rock bottom a strange man named Ryo Yoake appears. Yoake invites Kaizaki to join a societal rehabilitation program for NEETs called ReLife. This program uses a mysterious drug to make him look younger, and sends him back to high school for a year…
