Girl With A Thousand Curses Vol. #01 Hentai Manga Review

4 min read

Girl with a Thousand Curses CoverThis ero-manga is a funny fantasy tale with a hot elf and a succubus, kind of like Sorcerer Hunters with sex.

Creative Staff
Story/Art: Togashi
Translation/Adaptation: Sebastien Azar

What They Say
From the artist of the Dragon Knight 4 manga adaptation! Tia is a mercenary who’s down on her luck. Cursed with a perverted wolf demon, a succubus who lives off of semen, and a sex-crazed high elf with some very “masculine” magic, the only adventuring the girls are doing is under the bed sheets! An explicit adult graphic novel from the publishers of “A-G Super Erotic Anthology Comic.”

Technical:
Both the front and back covers of this book show the main character, Tia, in a sexy leather outfit. This is another nicely produced book from Icarus. Unfortunately, they just seem to be having a tough time keeping a consistent output in 2009. From a past interview, I know that as a publisher Icarus would like to release a book a month, but sometimes they fall a little behind. On the flipside, I would rather see them keep up the quality of their books and fall behind on schedule then crank out poor looking books.

Icarus can be hit or miss with their English adaptations, so it is always refreshing when they do a good job like they did with this book. The dialogue reads well and lacks grammar and spelling errors. Japanese SFX are not translated, but there are plenty of extra drawings and letters to the artist in the back of the book that did receive translations.

Togashi’s art is good and sexy, albeit not as detailed on the naughty bits as many ero-manga artists can be. Togashi’s women often leave a lot of their clothes on during sex, but more can be sexier. The characters are all of similar body type, skinny and BUSTY. Togashi really knows how to draw women in sexy positions, and they all boast kinky underwear and plenty of thigh-highs and garter belts.

Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers):
Tia is a jack-of-all-trades, only I would happily look at her butt crack while she fixes my sink over your average fix-it man. When Tia says she can do anything, she means it; exorcism, house cleaning, werewolf hunting, you name it. In fact, her first job is a cross between werewolf hunting and exorcising an evil spirit. A beautiful maiden is possessed by a werewolf and her father can’t keep replacing the housemaids, so he gives Tia a call. Forget about crosses, holy water, and bibles, Tia has her own charms. Slipping the maiden an aphrodisiac, Tia forces the werewolf spirits lust to take form, penis and all. Can Tia ejaculate out the werewolf’s spirit or will she be just another meal?

Tia may prefer working alone, but her elf friend Shelfa thinks otherwise. Shelfa, silly name aside, is smoking hot in her china-dress like outfit with thigh-highs and garter belt. Not only is she hot, but she knows how to satisfy a woman, especially when she releases the seal that gives her a huge penis. Right here, if you don’t like futa, this book isn’t for you.

The fantasy theme doesn’t just stop there, a succubus is on the prowl. Shelfa tracks down the evil creature in an attempt to save men everywhere. Will she kill the monster first and ask questions later?

The rest of the book is wall-to-wall girl-on-girl sex, with and without futa.
I love fantasy themed ero-manga and have been begging Icarus to release something. Not only did they finally release a fantasy book, but they also gave it a good English adaptation. ‘The Girl With A Thousand Curses’ is a funny sword and sorcery story about a girl that ends up spending most of her time as a willing sex slave.

Tia is a hot commodity. The elves love her,the succubi love her, the werewolves love her, you name it. However, most of her time is spent in passionate futa sex with either Shelfa the elf or Melte the succubus. Futa sex may turn off some ero-manga fans, but all the sex in this book is consensual and the characters are funny. I would almost say Shelfa’s personality was based off Ryoko’s character from the Tenchi universe. Shelfa is sexy, gruff, and knows what she wants.

In Summary
Overall, this is a fun read with decent art and a funny premise. Not only that, but there is a scene with futa and tentacles, the first scene I have ever seen with those two elements. Ero-manga fans need to buy this book just for that. This is definitely one Icarus book that I will reread.
