After being away for just a little bit of time with a hiatus *coughcough* and having just three days being on sale included in this listing, the 33rd volume of Hunter x Hunter has leapt to the top with 650,000 units moved. We’re far more interested in seeing where it stands next week, but for now, the proof is in the pudding that people want this book. The week is made up of almost all new books in the top ten outside of Kimi ni Todoke and Black Butler and what we get are popular titles such as Assassination Classroom and One-Punch Man helping to flesh out the top five with My Hero Academia. Toriko‘s power is still weak but holds on here and we get a great surge by Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou as well. And with a new anime adaptation coming, D.Gray-man with its latest volume has leapt to the seventh position.
On the light novel side, there’s a good mix of new and old there, but the dominant book is the tenth installment of Overlord, which landed with 110,000 volumes. I think we might see more anime made from it some day…
