Super Lovers HeaderWith the ten episode season concluding for Super Lovers, it was revealed that a second season is ahead for fans of the this spring 2016 series. The second season is now scheduled for a winter 2017 debut next January, picking up where this one left off. It’s expected that the cast and staff from the first season will be returning.

Shinji Ishihara directed the show based on the composition by Yoshihiko Nakamura. Miki Takihara worked on the character designs and the series was animated by Studio Deen.

The cast includes Junko Minagawa as Ren Kaidou, Tomoaki Maeno as Haru Kaidou, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Aki Kaidou, Takuma Terashima as Shima Kaidou, Ayumu Murase as Ikuyoshi Sasaki, Jun Fukushima as Junzen Kurosaki, Atsuko Tanaka as Haruko D. (Daniela) Dieckmann, Yoko Soumi as Mikiko Kasiwagi, Ryoko Shiraishi as Kiri Kondo, Ryotaro Okiaru as shirou Takamura, and Mitsuki Saiga as Kiyoka.

The series comes from Miyuki Abe which began back in 2009 and it has five volumes released in Japan so far. The tenth volume of the manga series will be getting a bundled anime episode with it and that’s scheduled for January 1st, 2017.

Plot concept: While spending summer with his mother, Haru meets Ren, a boy newly adopted by his mother. Getting along with Ren isn’t easy as Haru’s goal is to “civilize” him by the time summer ends. Their relationship slowly improves as Haru spends more time with Ren, and in return Ren steadily warms up to him. Can they really become a “family” at the end of summer?!
